Vaughan is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is located within the Greater Toronto Area and York Region. As of the 2016 Census, Vaughan had a population of 306,233.
Vaughan is the fifth-largest city in the Greater Toronto Area, and the 17th-largest city in Canada. Vaughan is also home to many recreational parks and trails, as well as historical sites such as Black Creek Pioneer Village.
Cannabis legislation in Vaughan
The Cannabis Act (Bill C-45) was passed by the Canadian Senate on June 7th, 2018 and came into force on October 17th, 2018. The act legalizes cannabis for recreational use nationwide. Each province and territory has since implemented their own regulations surrounding cannabis use.
In Vaughan, adults 19 years of age or older are able to purchase and consume cannabis from licensed retailers. Adults are also able to grow up to 4 cannabis plants per household (with a maximum of 4 adults per household).
